Organising a Visit to Corris Mine Explorers

Corris Mine Explorers can be explored in a maximum group size of 15 people (including free places for a teacher or group organiser).

Three Corris Mine Explorations are available – a 1 hour Taster Trip (minimum age of 8), a 2 hour Mine Explorer Trip (minimum age 10) or a Half Day Mine Expedition (minimum age of 13).

The Half Day Expedition enables the early and later parts of the mine to be explored, whereas the Mine Explorer Trip limits exploration to the earlier years of the mine but can include examples from the later days. If you have specific requirements the exploration can be tailored to suit your needs. The 1 hour Taster Trip provides groups with a taster for what the main trips involve.

A guided tour of the village of Corris and a visit to the Corris Railway Museum would provide further insight into how life was during Victorian times. The guided tour can be largely tailored to meet your specific needs. For school visits, an information sheet is included for every child.

There are picnic benches available at the Corris Craft Centre should you wish to bring along your own packed lunches or alternatively the Y Crochan café serves a tasty selection of hot and cold food and drinks throughout the day.

Please note that larger groups can be accommodated by splitting the group. Whilst 15 people enjoy Corris Mine Explorers, other members of the group can enjoy King Arthur’s Labyrinth, Bards’ Quest and the Corris Craft Centre or explore the village of Corris and the Corris Railway Museum.
